Knit, Triumph!

What is good for my mood? Finishing possibly the most beautiful thing I've ever knit. I am not inclined to false modesty in most cases, and I am not inclined to any modesty here.

The pictures don't really do it justice. (The Penguin isn't good at focusing my iPhone camera.) This sweater is made of air. It is three colorways of MadelineTosh Merino Light, and one extremely varied colorway of Rowan Kidsilk Haze. It is both cozy and light, comfortable and elegant. I never want to stop wearing it. I want to make it a million times in different colors and yarns. I want to spin 1600 yds of yarn to make another.

It can be pinned in a multitude of ways, or just left open. It has a swingy back. It drapes and flows and looks better in motion than in any of these photos. I give you "Sheer Beauty" from Knit, Swirl!.

  1. It really is a beautiful piece of work and the colours are just gorgeous. You have convinced me - I must get this book and knit my own swirl.
